Dr. Kern has performed thousands of minimally invasive, catheter-based, and ultrasound guided vascular procedures. Dr. Kern’s focus is on treating patients with varicose veins, chronic venous insufficiency, venous stasis, and / or leg ulcers. Many of the patients that seek treatment at Vein Specialists of Geneva have suffered with leg pain for many years resulting in a very poor quality of life. Others have spent years improperly diagnosed or treated with now outdated methodologies, such as vein stripping.
Dr. Kern is motivated everyday by improving the lives of patients with vein disease and training the next generation of vein disease specialists. Dr. Kern founded Vein Specialists of Geneva to ensure proper care for large numbers of people who suffer from poorly treated or mismanaged vein disease.
Vein disease is often poorly understood by patients and clinicians as being a “cosmetic issue only." Dr. Kern finds it extremely satisfying on a personal and professional level to be able to diagnose, treat, and monitor a patient’s progress and satisfaction as they go through treatment. Many of his patients do get an ancillary cosmetic benefit from our treatment which adds to their satisfaction.
